What’s the point of this post?

Posted by on May 13, 2021 in Working from home | Comments Off on What’s the point of this post?

Once again, it’s been 18 months since I posted a new blog post. This post serves no other purpose other than to say “Yes, I’m still self employed and still making a success of working from home – you can do it too”. Thanks for...

Exciting Days

Posted by on Feb 6, 2020 in Working from home | Comments Off on Exciting Days

I was just checking my site when I realised I hadn’t posted a new blog post for over 18 months. That’s rather remiss of me and might have led you to believe I’m no longer active online?! Far from it. So what can I tell you that’s new? Well, a few days ago I just passed my 19th anniversary of making a full time living from the internet.  Scary how fast time flies by. It seems to get faster every year. However, I am as excited today as I was the first day I started working for myself. I’m still learning new things (today for instance I am learning how to accept payments on my website) and life is great fun. So, if you were wondering is it really possible to earn a living from the internet, long term, just...

How long does success take?

Posted by on May 18, 2015 in Fun, Jobs and Careers, Makes you think, Success Tips, Working from home | Comments Off on How long does success take?

How long does success take? There is a common misunderstanding that it takes 10,000 hours to succeed in anything. This is actually wrong and can be very limiting to our thoughts and therefore can actually stop us trying out new things and finding out just how much success we can have in everyday life. Of course it depends how you measure success, but I’m sure you’ll be as encouraged as I was when I saw this video. I’ve edited the original to less than half it’s length which will hopefully mean more people watch it and in turn, more people actually do something positive with their lives as a consequence. Enjoy and feel free to comment and share:...

13 Excuses People Use To Explain Why They Fail…

Posted by on May 6, 2015 in Success Tips, Working from home | 21 comments

13 Excuses that will stop you living your dreams…. Excuses. We all have them. And eventually we all regret them, especially when those excuses kept us from chasing — and possibly achieving — our dreams. So if you’ve always wanted to start your own business, even just a business on the side while you keep your full-time job (which in many circumstances is the best approach to take), see if any of the following are unnecessarily holding you back: 1. “I’m too late.” Yeah, Jobs beat you to the graphical interface… but Xerox beat him. Dell wasn’t the first to cobble together his own computers. Zuckerberg wasn’t first in social media. The list goes on. Innovation is never one-and-done; some of the most successful companies are based on refining earlier ideas and innovations. You’re only too late if you’re not...

Building a legacy…

I’ve always been keen to work with companies where they pay me commissions for the lifetime of customers that I bring them. Whilst it takes longer to build up the residual income, it’s certainly worth it because it gives a much more solid and reliable income. I have seen a lot of people crash and burn over the last 15 years that I’ve been self employed because they've chased the quick income. But the quicker it comes, the faster it leaves. Only yesterday I was talking with someone who is a professional SEO consultant. For those who don’t know what SEO is, it’s “Search Engine Optimisation”. Basically you get a site listed at the top of Google search results. Great if you can do it and the traffic can be fantastic (I know because I had several sites at the...
