Why “Never Invest More Than You Can Afford To Lose” Is Really BAD Advice…

I’ve seen a lot of illegal Ponzi pyramid schemes in my time and generally find them very easy to spot however, one thing that really irritates me is when promoters (who almost always know they are promoting an illegal, fraudulent scheme) say “never invest more than you can afford to lose”. On the surface this seems very sound advice. But it’s fraught with problems and very often the only real reason someone is offering this advice is to cover their own backs in case you lose your money. So what’s the problem with this advice? No surprises there, a classic HYIP (High Yield Investment Programme – i.e. scam!). Just thought I’d post this so it’s on the record. It was a great looking website, but that’s why it suckered so many people in. Here’s a simple test – if there’s no REAL PRODUCT people want to buy (irrespective of the business opportunity) then RUN for the hills! Here’s the alexa ranking today: Have a look at Alexa in a few days time and you should see what’s happened to the graph. A total cliff edge, typical of a scam.
