How long does success take?

Posted by on May 18, 2015 in Fun, Jobs and Careers, Makes you think, Success Tips, Working from home | Comments Off on How long does success take?

How long does success take? There is a common misunderstanding that it takes 10,000 hours to succeed in anything. This is actually wrong and can be very limiting to our thoughts and therefore can actually stop us trying out new things and finding out just how much success we can have in everyday life. Of course it depends how you measure success, but I’m sure you’ll be as encouraged as I was when I saw this video. I’ve edited the original to less than half it’s length which will hopefully mean more people watch it and in turn, more people actually do something positive with their lives as a consequence. Enjoy and feel free to comment and share:...

Building a legacy…

Posted by on Mar 5, 2015 in Jobs and Careers, Makes you think, Success Tips, Working from home | Comments Off on Building a legacy…

I’ve always been keen to work with companies where they pay me commissions for the lifetime of customers that I bring them. Whilst it takes longer to build up the residual income, it’s certainly worth it because it gives a much more solid and reliable income. I have seen a lot of people crash and burn over the last 15 years that I’ve been self employed because they've chased the quick income. But the quicker it comes, the faster it leaves.Only yesterday I was talking with someone who is a professional SEO consultant. For those who don’t know what SEO is, it’s “Search Engine Optimisation”. Basically you get a site listed at the top of Google search results. Great if you can do it and the traffic can be fantastic (I know because I had several sites at the top...

My First Million Dollars – What Would You Do?

Posted by on Feb 9, 2015 in Fun, Jobs and Careers, Makes you think, Working from home | 14 comments

My First Millions Dollars What would you do? Take the million dollars or be true to yourself? When you watch the video below you may recognise this guy. If you ask any teenager they will almost certainly recognise him. He has become a phenomenon on the internet. There is a lot of commentary about this video. "It’s a fake to get more likes on Vine where he is followed by millions" "He makes enough from his new fame from television appearances, etc" What do you think? This is a guy who grew up in a world of dysfunction, busy trying to conform to what society thought was best for him but then decides to drop out of business school and buy a one way ticket to China. During his trip he meets a fellow traveller who asks the question…...

Posted by on Jan 19, 2015 in Fun, Jobs and Careers, Makes you think, Working from home | 3 comments

If you’ve woken up today feeling bluer than you usually do on a Monday morning, you probably won’t be alone. Today – Monday, January 19 – is the gloomiest, unhappiest day of this new year, say experts. The good news is, 2015 gets better… starting tomorrow. Or, if you’re an optimist, starting right NOW. The grimness of ‘Blue Monday’ is believed to be caused by several factors – the realisation that you’ve spent far too much in the holiday season of Christmas and New Year, the accompanying knowledge that you also ate far too much and piled on extra kilos, and the fear that you’ve made new year resolutions you will be unable to keep. All this, plus the relentlessly dull weather. Experts say that people tend to cope with ‘Blue Monday’ by hoping money worries will go away...

14 year anniversary

Posted by on Jan 5, 2015 in Jobs and Careers, Makes you think, Working from home | Comments Off on 14 year anniversary

Today is the first Monday of the new working year and I’m just reflecting that it was this Monday, 14 years ago, I walked into my full time JOB with massive nerves because I was about to make one of the biggest decisions of my life…. I had in my briefcase a letter of resignation. How was I going to approach my boss? How would he take the news? The mix of anticipation and nerves was amazing. I can still feel them right now as I type this. By the end of the day, it had been done. My boss had accepted my resignation (and also threatened me!) and that was it. I was now due to serve out my 1 month notice. The feeling of relief was enormous. I had done it! Now it was time to get...
