Today is the first Monday of the new working year and I’m just reflecting that it was this Monday, 14 years ago, I walked into my full time JOB with massive nerves because I was about to make one of the biggest decisions of my life….

I had in my briefcase a letter of resignation. How was I going to approach my boss? How would he take the news? The mix of anticipation and nerves was amazing. I can still feel them right now as I type this.

By the end of the day, it had been done. My boss had accepted my resignation (and also threatened me!) and that was it. I was now due to serve out my 1 month notice. The feeling of relief was enormous.

I had done it! Now it was time to get stuck into it. I HAD to create my own wealth, not rely on some boss dictating what I should be doing or how much I was “worth”. Exciting and daunting at the same time.

Today, as I look back over the last 14  years, it was the best decision I ever made. We only get one life and whilst there have been ups and downs (and currently I’m struggling to turn my income up again but I’ve done it before and know I WILL do it again) the overall impact on my life has been enormous. I don’t have to live with the “I wonder what could have happened?” thought. No regrets. I did it!

I hope this inspires you!
